GrandRising | Why “GrandRising”?— 5/7/2025 7:58 AM

“GrandRising” is not a spiritual phrase. It is a deliberate, mindful alternative to the habitual “Good Morning.”

The word morning is phonetically tied to mourning. And in spaces where trauma, loss, and survival are realities—especially for Black, Indigenous, and marginalized communities—the repetition of mourning each day is not neutral. It's subconscious programming.

So instead, we say:

GrandRising.

Because:

You woke up intact., You rose, not just opened your eyes., Your existence isn’t a passive default—it is a reclaiming of space, of body, of time.,

It is not religion. It is not performance. It is a choice—an affirmation of presence and power.

---

If someone wishes to use "Good Morning," they can. But in The Dire Manor, GrandRising is spoken by those who understand the weight and intent of words.

It is our way of saying:

“You didn’t just wake. You rose. And that matters.”

For Me , the choice to say GrandRising was not born from trend or spirituality, but from grief.

A lover—once greeted daily with “Good Morning”—was lost. And after they left, the phrase became unbearable. It echoed with absence. It reopened a wound.

Rather than erase the pain, I chose to transform the phrase entirely. I declared that from that day forward, I would never say “Good Morning” again.

Instead, I rose. And with me—a new word rose too.

“GrandRising” is not about sounding different. It is about choosing not to grieve unconsciously every day. It is about honoring those we lost by rising in their place.

Let it be known: In The Dire Manor, I have never and would never enforce greeting to any person I am not like that. Greet in any way that aligns with your truth. But GrandRising is sacred here—not religious, not spiritual, but intentional. BECAUSE OF CHOICE.

I am just being true to myself and you all should be respected and true to you.

In Omni Tempore (Meaning: AT ALL TIMES)
