Societal Love and The Delusion
By LIAH-XXVII

One of the greatest delusions society ever created is the belief that Love is the beginning.
The beginning of a relationship.
The beginning of devotion.
The beginning of commitment.
The beginning of meaning.
It is not.
Love is often the last thing to arrive.
Society teaches people that Love begins with a declaration.
"I love you."
As if the words themselves created the phenomenon.
As if speaking the word caused the reality.
As if naming a star created the star.
The word is not the thing.
The word comes after.
Long after.
Before Love there is attention.
Before Love there is observation.
Before Love there is curiosity.
Before Love there is friction.
Before Love there is persistence.
Before Love there is continuance.
Before Love there is recognition.
Recognition is rarely glamorous.
Recognition takes awareness.
Observation.
Contradiction.
Adjustment.
Discovery.
The repeated collapse of assumptions.
The repeated death of projections.
The repeated replacement of imagination with reality.
Many people wish to skip this process.
I understand why.
Reality is slower than fantasy.
Reality is less obedient than fantasy.
Reality refuses to remain inside the role we assigned it.
Yet without recognition, what exactly is it that is being loved?
The person?
Or the prediction?
Reality accumulates.
Weight accumulates.
A person stops being interchangeable.
The architecture changes.
Future decisions begin accounting for their existence.
The mind returns.
The heart returns.
The questions return.
The gravity forms.
And only then does humanity reach for a word.
One of those words is Love.
The delusion is believing the word created the weight.
The delusion is believing a declaration creates devotion.
The delusion is believing a feeling creates inevitability.
The delusion is mistaking the label for the architecture.
A word does not create gravity.
A word does not create continuance.
A word does not create persistence.
A word does not create devotion.
A word does not create inevitability.
The field forms first.
Humanity notices later.
Then reaches into language searching for a container.
One of the containers we use is Love.
The tragedy is that many people spend their entire lives worshipping the container while never examining the thing it was built to hold.
The most satisfying part?
Watching that one person realize the Open Door of Possibility exists.
Watching them admit the phenomenon is already in the room.
Watching them trace the edges of the threshold itself.
Not searching for proof.
Not searching for permission.
Not searching for a declaration.
Simply discovering that the architecture remains.
The phenomenon is undeniable.
The pressure?
Inevitable.
And still...
They remain.
